My story

"To cut a long story short...

I was walking along a beach in Goa leading to the town of Calangute, famous for its heavenly beaches : a destination of choice for rock’n’roll stars, sun lovers and others. I wasn’t looking for anything in particular or hoping for something special. One has to watch out for those fateful moments of suspension, when doing nothing is more productive than doing something.

It was then that I stumbled upon, or maybe I should say, a tapestry stumbled upon me. A strange place for an encounter…

In the tapestry a tiger attacks a deer, its claws are out, its mouth is gripping the deer’s neck, whilst in the distance three young deer are making their escape. Was it chain stitch, I wondered ?"

The adventure began in 2007 in Srinagar, where I went to produce the first prototypes of cushions for LINDELL & Co. Maison & Objet had indeed given me the green light to participate in the show in January 2008 (!)...
